On a ferryboat

For me, this type of transport has some zest, probably because I live far from the sea) But if we think objectively, then using a ferry is cheaper than flying by plane, and sailing on it takes a long time. But this method of travel is suitable for those who do not want to part with their car. Honestly, price policy strange, often a ferry is more expensive than a plane, take for example.

Up to 1 million people live in Mallorca, but during the season there are a lot of visitors, it’s not for nothing that the airport here is one of the largest in Spain. For this reason, the schedule in summer and winter varies significantly and depends on passenger traffic. Thus, the Trasmediterranea company does not operate flights in this direction at all in winter, and traffic begins in April on Sundays. To view the schedule, go to the website and select the direction from Mallorca to Ibiza. The ferry leaves at 9 am and takes 4 hours. You can buy a ticket to a cabin, or you can buy it in a hall with only chairs. Balearia operates flights all year round. The schedule can also be viewed on the company’s website, select the direction Mallorca - Ibiza. Ferries depart at 8:00 and 10:00 and take 3.5-4 hours.

All ferries depart from the city of Palma de Mallorca and arrive in the city of Ibiza (Eivissa). The pier in Mallorca is located next to Avinguda de Gabriel Roca, and Ibise is on Carrer d "Iboshim, near the lighthouse.

We chose the morning ferry for the trip and were already there at noon. A trip of a couple of days is enough to stroll around Ibiza and attend a couple of parties.

Detailed review of the trip:
I just returned from the islands and decided to write while my memories are fresh. I won’t write long memoirs. My task is to provide information that may be useful on your trip. I hope my story helps someone.

The idea to go to the islands appeared back in March, when I discovered good prices from my favorite Lufthansa for Helsinki - Palma de Mallorca (6,300 rubles round trip). For us residents of St. Petersburg, Finka is a great place to go to our dacha, so we bought tickets without hesitation for August. From Mallorca it’s a stone’s throw to Ibiza (40 minutes by plane and, it seems, 3-4 hours by boat). We didn’t want to bother with the ship, we took Air Berlin tickets, which cost (also 6 months before departure) about 60 euros round trip. We got to Helsinki from St. Petersburg by taxi, which I really like (here is their contact number 3281616, 9188506), everything was clear in terms of time and comfort. Cost: morning transfer - 30, night transfer 45 euros.
It was my first time in the Balearics. There is, oddly enough, very little information. It seems that everything has been traveled and moved, but I found almost no useful reviews on where it’s better to live, etc. But I found a review from a citizen who described the Balearics as hell on earth, with cigarette butts on the beach, loud music and, oh God, drunken youth on the Ibis. In general, I chose the hotel based on the meager data from foreign forums. Our preference was, of course, the sea and clubs and a decent audience. I suppose you can go and see the sights from anywhere. Of course, we chose the most decent place at the lowest price.
I’ll immediately make a reservation that for citizens of a fine spiritual organization, it is better to postpone a trip to the islands. There is a huge flow of tourists here. There are a lot of young people who stick out as much as they can, so it can be dirty and noisy, etc. If you are squeamish about bars, wonder why the bar street is noisy at night and don’t like the Spanish language, it’s better not to go.

Majorca.

So, in Mallorca I chose the Arenal area. Hotel Dunas Blancas. The hotel is good, ordinary rooms, small pool, 5 minutes from the sea. For an additional 8 euros per day, meals full board(3 times). Cost: 3-bed room 7 nights 840 euros.

To understand where to choose a hotel.
Mallorca has 3 main tourist areas: Palma, Arenal and Magaluf. There are so many Germans and a few Italians living in Arenal, the British in Magaluf, the Spaniards and others in Palma. We met few Russians. So, when booking a hotel in Arenal (it’s 15 minutes by taxi and an hour by bus from Palma and the airport), you must understand that you will find yourself in micro-Germany. For the Germans, this region is like Alanya for us. There are German beer bars, signs, etc. The waiters don't speak Spanish (but they do speak German and English). Young Germans behave the same way as our compatriots in Alanya: they sing, get drunk, etc. Overall, it's quite fun. I'm not a fan of Germany, so we didn't spend much time in our area. In Magaluf it's the same story, but with the British. They are just as out of touch. Next time, I'll stay in Palma. In the Maritimo area. Tourists are nicer here. Locals go here. All bars and clubs are collected here. One minus - you can't swim in the sea. This is the city center. But you can leave by the same bus or car.
Sea.
Arenal has a clean enough sea for such a flow of people. On the beach everyone is lying on top of each other. The cost of a sunbed is 5 euros. Umbrellas are shared. People play ball and beach tennis. Nice beach in Palma Nova near Magaluf.
If you want a really beautiful picture, clean water, fewer people, it is best to rent a car, scooter or motorcycle and go to the coast. I'll tell you the exact name below. Local friends took us for a swim to beaches where the bottom was visible 7-10 meters deep. But we drove for about 15-20 minutes, so I guess we’ll find nice beach not a problem in Mallorca. Very beautiful and nearby on the North-West coast of the island.
Night life.
big ones, good clubs located in Palma: Pacha, Paradies, Titos, Abraxas. Maritimo street has many bars. In Magaluf there is a BCM club. Many people criticize him, but I really liked him. Good music, show. It costs, I think, about 30 euros with drinks. The audience is young Britons, Italians. In Arenal there is a club Rio and Mega Park. Clubs filled with Germans. It’s worth going to MegaPark if only out of curiosity. This is a large, bright room with round wooden tables, where on each table there is a bucket of alcohol, with many straws extending from it. The Germans dance on chairs, tables, drink from these buckets and absolutely everyone sings along to absolutely all the songs! A street of bars stretches along the sea. Lots of barkers lure you into their bar, sometimes offering you your first free drink.
Souvenirs, etc. Prices are not low, but quite reasonable. Magnets are about 2-4 euros. Tennis - 4 euros. Large towel - 9 euros. Rum, gin, vodka, etc. - 12-20 euros a bottle in the store. Cola - 1.5 euros large bottle. Water - 1 euro. Telephone service is expensive. It cost me about 50 euros for 2 weeks with Movistar. True, I also spoke and wrote quite a bit. Eating in a regular cafe costs 12-20 euros.
What to see:
Of course, Palma itself. Necessarily: Cathedral one of the largest in Europe. Step inside and miss the Antoni Gaudí canopy and stunning stained glass windows (especially the giant rose window). Interesting museum Mallorca. I really liked it gothic castle Castel de Bellver, which offers panoramic views of the city (entrance fee 6 euros).
I also really liked 3 places:
La Granja - This stunning country estate is located in a mountainous area. The estate is ancient, interesting interiors, storage rooms, workshops. A very beautiful park with a water mill, sand, and a mountain river. It sounds boring, but believe me, it is really very beautiful there. The estate produces honey, wine, baked goods, and natural creams. All this can be tried and bought. We wandered around the area for at least an hour. Entry cost is 12.5 euros.
Not far from La Granja there is a very picturesque bay of Port Canonge, with a miniature beach and clear water. Also nearby is the town of Esporles with a picturesque canal.
Valldemossa – an incredibly beautiful mountain road leads to this small ancient town. Narrow streets and stunning views from observation deck. Frederic Chopin lived here. Very beautiful on the beach at the port of Valldemossa (5-7 km).
Soller. The trip to Soller takes a full day. Ask your hotel for train schedules and head to Palma's Plaza de España. There you will see the metro. To the left of the metro there is a picture of a train on the wall. Move along the wall. It will seem Railway. Here, from the very heart of the city, the ancient Red Arrow train goes to Soler. A round-trip ticket can be purchased at the box office. It costs 17 euros. The train is almost 100 years old. You can take any seat in the carriage, but it is better to stay in the open area between the carriages. The road is very picturesque. At first there are fields and valleys of orange trees, and at the end of the road there are stunning tunnels and mountains. The train makes a 5-minute stop in the town of Bignola, where you can get off the train and take a photo at the observation deck against the backdrop of the mountains. Soler itself is a cozy shady town, which is surrounded by mountains on all sides except access to the sea. Very beautiful cathedral central square. Here you can wait for the train in one of the open cafes. In the center of the square there is a small fountain with drinking water.
From the station you can take an equally old tram, which will take you to Port de Soler in 15 minutes and 4 euros. There is a beautiful beach here, you can swim and walk along this picturesque bay. The main thing is not to forget about time. The last train to Palma leaves at 18.30.

I imagined Ibiza as something different. I thought you leave the hotel in the morning and everyone is dancing. You walk along the beach and everyone is dancing. And so from morning until morning non-stop. In fact, both older people and families with children go to Ibiza. During the day everything is very decent. An ordinary seaside town.
I made the right decision with the hotel in Ibiza. I wanted to get to the most popular place and I hit the spot. The Fiesta Hotel Playa den Bossa is located on the beach of the same name, De Bossa. The hotel is very good for its 3 stars. 8 floors, all rooms with balconies, from each room one way or another you can see the sea. Meals are half board. There is also an all-inclusive option. The food is good. The cost of 8 nights in a 3-bed room is 1600 euros. A big plus of the hotel: it is located directly on the sea, but is fenced, so just anyone does not enter. A large swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas, where music plays all the time and unobtrusive animation runs. The audience is almost all 20-40 years old. No children at all. The atmosphere is very cozy, making acquaintances is easy. IN nearby hotel Ushuaia has great parties every night from 5am to 1am. The hotel positions itself as a VIP, therefore the quality of sound, light, etc. is excellent. The audience is great, the atmosphere is great. Great pre-party place! Ticket price is about 50-65 euros. But it's worth it.
Across the street from our hotel is a wonderful club called Space. A 3-minute walk along the beach is the Bora-Bora beach club. There is also a supermarket, shops, souvenirs, and 2 wonderful bars nearby. I recommend this hotel to everyone!
The airport is a few kilometers away and planes fly directly over the roofs of the hotels.
Sea.
The beach next to the hotel is clean and not very crowded. You can sunbathe on a towel or on a sun lounger for 7 euros. The beach strip is very large, about 3 km. There are a lot of beautiful people, music is playing here and there. You can ride a banana boat, a slide, or an aqua bike.
Night life.
We met a few people who snorted that Ibiza wasn't that much fun and that Cyprus was generally better (guess which country these people were from). So, you don’t have to wait for someone to amuse you here. The ancestors of the island are hippies and this is exactly the atmosphere that reigns here. Relaxed during the day and fiery at night. There is no such discussion of each other here as in Moscow clubs. Everyone does what they want and how they want. Do you want to wear feathers on your head, mesh on your butt? For God's sake! Drugs? Please offer directly on the street. Topless sunbathing? Almost everyone tans like this. It's like Vegas here. What happens in Ibiza stays in Ibiza! =) Grandpa Klaus lived in our room and came alone! Tickets to the main clubs can be bought on the Internet, on the street, at the hotel and at the entrance. The most expensive ones at the entrance. The cheapest ones on the Internet. Our hotel is 15-20 euros cheaper than the official ones. It's still a little cheaper on the street. The ticket price depends on the club and party. Usually from 25 to 85 euros just for entry. Guetta, Tiesto, etc. cost 75 – 85 euros. But don’t expect that you can dance. There are so many people that everyone is standing on one finger. Guetta was there for 2 hours the whole evening and most of the time he did not move the discs and waved his arms. But the party is awesome anyway.
There are a lot of ticket distributors on the street and beach. They can also offer discounts or free entry (we went to Spice for free twice), but this is very rare. There is no need to look for them. They will find you themselves. It makes sense to go to every club. And, of course, to Ushuaia for the pre-party. The cost of drinks inside: I drink rum and cola, so I can only say about it - about 15 euros a glass. Water around 10-12.
We went to San Antonio twice. The British live there. They are very noisy! The atmosphere there is more fun on the street, but it's not worth living there. There is a fun bar street that reminded me of Walking Street in Pattaya. Not a bad club Eden, where we got in for free after receiving a bracelet on the street.
How to calculate how much money to take to Ibiza? It is better to choose a hotel with meals. At least you won’t go hungry and you won’t have to look for anything. It’s better to book in advance if you don’t want to travel to clubs from some village later. Taxi to clubs costs about 20-50 euros (depending on distance). The average ticket price is 50 euros. The best option: Ushuaia in the evening and after an hour another club (it’s about 50 and 50 euros). About extras I can’t say what the remedies are, I don’t use them. Be sure to buy some bags and T-shirts. You won't find anything like this anywhere else. This is another 100-300 euros. Souvenirs: 1.5-4 euros magnets, 3-10 cups, 2.5 flip-flops, 15 towels.
You can rent a car or scooter and drive around the island.
You should definitely visit the island of Formentera. You can get there from the port by boat or tour. We sailed on Balearia 45 euros round trip. The island is quite large. Taxis and buses are available. Somewhat awesome beautiful beaches with emerald clear water. There are also hotels and parties here, you can stay for a couple of days.

Magaluf is a resort in Mallorca. VERY youthful.
