When in 1959 a three-deck passenger ship, named after its hometown, was launched from the shipyard in Komárno (Czechoslovakia), no one imagined what it would become today. It served for 45 years in its unchanged form on the Moscow-Astrakhan passenger line, until it was bought by Alandia Cruises, which carried out a complete restructuring of the ship while maintaining its appearance.

The Project 26-37 motor ship in Russia has “twins” (for example, “Mikhail Tanich”), but their current status is completely different. Conducted during 2005-2007. The restoration of the motor ship Komárno led to a reduction in capacity from 250 to 109 passengers. As a result, it became Russia's first five-star class river cruise ship.
