The pistes in the Maiskogel area southeast of Kaprun are excellent for intermediate skiers, while beginners are best in the Lerchenberg area. On the glacier, skiers will find wide, long pistes of medium difficulty and several good red pistes.

The busiest place on the glacier is the Parasol bar in the Alpincenter; concerts and all kinds of events are often held near its open terraces.
