The building of the main entrance to Gorky Park was opened after a large-scale restoration. The architects not only restored the historical appearance of the arch, but also presented the Muscovites with an unexpected gift. An observation deck appeared on the roof of the main entrance, which offers a wonderful view of the park and its surroundings.

  • on the territory of the Moscow Kremlin will reward those who have mastered 137 steps with a beautiful view of the historical buildings of old Moscow.
  • Observation deck at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviorthe best place to explore the central part of the city, and there is an elevator.
  • The highest observation deck- at the Ostankino TV tower. Here, the height is literally breathtaking!
  • Skyscrapers of Moscow City, as well as the hotel "Red Hills" - a great place to enjoy dinner overlooking the evening city.
  • Sparrow Hills and the building of the Moscow University is the most popular way to look around the whole city.

The points from which the most spectacular views open are in any metropolis. Moscow can also surprise them, and in all its diversity. You can admire the capital of Russia from high picturesque embankments, from the walls of historical monuments, modern high-rise buildings. Almost all of these observation platforms are open to everyone. Some of them are part of museum complexes, others are located in Moscow skyscrapers, and still others are part of the Moscow landscape.

This observation deck can be number one on your list. It is located on Cathedral Square (Kremlin, Cathedral Square, entrance by ticket). This bell tower is one of the Kremlin museums. You can climb to a height of 25 meters, and on the way, explore the exposition dedicated to the history of the architecture of the Kremlin. The reward for diligence will be a delightful view of the historic central Moscow. In past centuries, when the buildings were not so multi-storey and dense, from the bell tower you could see the surroundings within a radius of 25-30 km. Due to this, the bell tower was the main sentinel point for the defense of the city. Today, because of the tall buildings, it is no longer possible to look so far, but this does not prevent the bell tower from being one of the best viewing platforms in the city. The bell tower received its final form at the beginning of the 17th century. under Tsar Boris Godunov - at that time it was built up to a height of 81 meters.

Remember that in order to climb to the observation deck, you need to overcome 137 steps, which not everyone can do.

Cathedral of Christ the Savior

Another observation platform in the center of Moscow (Volkhonka st., 15, entrance by ticket). on this site was originally built according to the project of the architect A. Ton in the middle of the 19th century, blown up and dismantled to the ground by the Bolsheviks in 1931, and then restored in the 1990s. This vantage point has an advantage over the Ivan the Great Bell Tower: you can see the Kremlin panorama from it. At the same time, you don’t have to “take the height” at all: there are elevators in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, so climbing to the observation decks will be easy.

The height of the observation platforms, which are located at the corners of the cathedral (under the bell towers), is 40 m, and they offer an overview of the entire city center. This site is the most convenient option for those who want to combine the opportunity to enjoy picturesque views with a cultural program. You can see the Cathedral of Christ the Savior itself, and look into the museum at the temple to learn the history of its construction and restoration.

Ostankino Tower

The highest observation deck of the city is located on one of the upper floors (St. Akademika Koroleva, 15, entrance by ticket). Today it is the tallest building in Europe and the tenth tallest building in the world. The Ostankino television tower was built in 1960-1967. designed by designer N. Nikitin and architects L. Batalov and D. Budin. They say that the idea of this stable structure was formalized into a project literally overnight: in a moment of insight, Nikitin proposed to give the base of the tower the shape of a lily leaf. The height of the tower's spire is 540 meters, and the amplitude of its oscillations can reach 3 meters. The building houses many TV channels and radio stations.

There are two public viewing platforms on the Ostankino Tower: open - at a height of 340 m, where you can get only in the warm season, and closed - at a height of 337 m. Such a huge height allows you to see all of Moscow and even the nearest suburbs. It is truly breathtaking here, especially in some places where the floor is deliberately made transparent. Here you can also ride high-speed elevators and see a small exposition dedicated to the history of the construction of the tower.

Skyscrapers of Moscow

Another viewpoint that has appeared in the city relatively recently is Moscow City, an island of modern skyscrapers in the city center. Observation deck on the 58th floor Empire towers” is the best option: this is the only place from where the business center itself does not block the view (Presnenskaya embankment, 6, building 2, entrance by tickets). The tower is a modern business building with fast elevators (their speed is 7 m/s). The complex is located in the center of Moscow, at a distance of only four kilometers from the Kremlin, and is very convenient in terms of transport accessibility. The panoramas of Moscow City in the evening hours are extraordinarily beautiful - from here you can watch the sunset.

If you want to combine the pleasant with the even more pleasant, then in the same place, in Moscow City, in tower "Federation" on the 64th floor there is a restaurant "Sixty" (Presnenskaya embankment, 12). It belongs to the category of expensive establishments, but the prices are justified by amazing views: the main thing is to take a table by the window. The restaurant claims to be the highest in Europe. The quality of the cuisine is also highly appreciated by the visitors.

Another good vantage point located in the city center is the City Space bar in hotel "Red Hills"(Kosmodamianskaya embankment, 52, building 6). Its visitors can not only have a good time in an elegant bar, but also enjoy a beautiful panorama of the city - with a 360-degree view. This site makes it possible to see the Kremlin from a fairly close distance, as well as to see the famous ones - they are always easy to recognize even against the backdrop of modern buildings.

Sparrow Hills and the building of Moscow University

There are several observation platforms in Moscow, which appeared due to the natural relief, and you can visit them completely free of charge. One of the most favorite viewing platforms for residents and guests of the city is located on Sparrow Hills near the Moscow River (Kosygina St., 18). It offers a view of almost the entire city, including all the Stalinist skyscrapers. At the same time, in order to consider the latter, you will have to look around - the observation deck is located directly in front of the Main Building of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. The site is surrounded by a large park belonging to the territory of the university, and nearby is Botanical Garden university. Newlyweds often come to this viewpoint to walk and take pictures. In the evenings, bikers and sports car enthusiasts gather here.

A walk along the Sparrow Hills can be combined with an educational event: by appointment you can get to the Museum of Geography of Moscow State University(m. University, Leninskiye Gory, d. 1A). It is located on floors 24-31 of the Main Building, and this gives you the opportunity to get to another observation point. Thus, visitors will be able not only to see the famous Stalinist skyscraper inside and get acquainted with the museum exposition, but also to admire the view of Moscow from a bird's eye view. You can clearly see not only the city center, but also a large section of the Moskva River with new residential areas beyond it.

Poklonnaya Hill and the city center

Another viewpoint is located next to the station Metro Park Pobedy. Perhaps the view from it is not too wide, but this place is interesting as a monument of the military history of Russia. Here you can visit

There are so many interesting and unusual things in Moscow that it is difficult to choose where to go. Museums, art galleries, parks, the Kremlin with Red Square, churches and estates - you can’t list everything, and even more so you can’t get around even in a week. A good way out in this case would be to visit observation platforms - a favorite place for travelers in any tourist city. After all, only from a height can one capture this huge city with a glance, admire the beautiful panoramas of the capital and, of course, take a lot of amazing photos.
Moscow is not only the capital, but also a city of contrasts, so there are many viewing platforms here and each one is impressive in its own way. One will be focused on the historical center, the other on the urban environment, the third - on individual interesting monuments, and the fourth will be able to cover everything in its entirety.

The list of observation points in Moscow is quite impressive, because in addition to the official ones, there are many small-town ones known only to native Muscovites. In addition, it is constantly updated, because the number of viewing platforms is only growing every year, and this is primarily due to the emergence of new architectural objects, on the top floors of which it is now customary to equip space for viewing the city. Below I will try to list the most interesting and diverse viewing platforms in Moscow, which definitely deserve attention.

Free viewing platforms

I will give the first place in the list of observation decks lookout on Sparrow Hills.

Located on a fairly high bank of the Moskva River, not far from the red metro line, it is popular with both residents and guests of the city. The main reason is that next to the observation deck there is a forest park area and a long pedestrian embankment, which are well suited for relaxing, walking and cycling, which, by the way, can be rented right there in the park. Here, it will open cable car, which will connect Sparrow Hills and Luzhniki, is also quite an observation deck.

From a height of 80 meters - the natural height of the banks of the Moskva River - you will see the renovated Luzhniki stadium, the panorama of Moscow City against the background of water, and even the city center.

Another nearby observation deck near the unique building of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The entrance is free.

Not so long ago, after a long reconstruction, it was opened Central Children's World, which is located next to the metro stations - "Lubyanka" and "Kuznetsky Most". A free observation deck appeared on the top floor, from which you can see the historical center of Moscow. (Attention! Recently, a fee for visiting the observation deck has been introduced)

And there is also the Museum of Childhood, which we talked about here.
The role of the youngest and most unusual observation deck rightfully belongs to "Soaring Bridge" in Zaryadye Park, located not far from Vasilyevsky Spusk near the metro and bus stops public transport"China town".

It was opened only a year ago, but has already become the most popular place in Moscow. An interesting engineering structure has no analogues in the world yet, and it can only be called a bridge conditionally, rather it is a console in the form of the letter V, hanging over the Moskvoretskaya embankment. Thanks to this design, the bridge was given the name "Soaring". Although the bridge is not high - only 15 meters above the river level, it offers good views of the Kremlin, St. Basil's Church, embankments, the Foreign Ministry building, GUM and, of course, Zaryadye Park itself. The only negative of this observation deck is a large number of people even on weekdays.
Entrance to all the above observation platforms is absolutely free, and there is not even a time limit on Vorobyovy Gory, which will allow you to admire Moscow at night.
By the way, there is a view bridge not only in Zaryadye. Our favorite view of the Kremlin - Bridges Stone and Patriarchy.

Observation decks in Moscow City

The image of modern Moscow is a relatively recently erected on the Presnenskaya embankment business complex of the capital Moscow-City. Consisting of ultra-modern skyscraper buildings, the complex dilutes and enlivens the Moscow cityscape. It is not surprising that observation decks are equipped on the upper floors of these buildings, one of which has become the highest in Moscow and even in Europe. There are several of them here - they are located on the 58th (Empire tower), 87th (Oko tower) and 89th (Vostok Federation tower) floors of three adjacent buildings. Each of them has its own chips. In the Empire tower the observation deck appeared earlier than others. The view from it is limited by other towers, but you will see the main sights. But she has the most low price, the Moscow City Museum is open.

In the Federation Tower East there is a restaurant on the observation deck, the world's highest ice cream factory "Clean Line", concerts and other events are held. The site is closed, as in the Empire, but it offers a 360-degree panorama of Moscow.

In the Oko tower there is an open observation deck, so its visit is limited weather conditions. There is also a restaurant here.
The views, as you might guess, are amazing from here, especially in the evening, when the capital, immersed in darkness, flashes with bright lights. The only annoyance is that it is clear that the views from here are already without the business center towers familiar in the metropolitan panorama.
Entrance to all viewing points is paid, its cost varies from 600 to 1500 RUB, depending on the time of day and the chosen height.
In addition to the official viewing platforms, Moscow City has many restaurant restaurants with panoramic views. But, as you understand, you can’t just go there and take pictures of Moscow, the prices for everything are high.

Other paid viewing platforms

The next row of observation decks is available only with the purchase of a ticket or an excursion that includes an ascent to the observation deck. This is first of all lookout from Ivan the Great Bell Tower, which occupies a place in the heart of the capital - in the Moscow Kremlin.

The platform located in the first tier of the ringing has a height of only 25 meters, so you should not expect wide panoramas, but the view of the interior of the architectural ensemble of the Kremlin is very informative. From here, from a bird's eye view, all the cathedrals and towers of the Moscow Kremlin are the best possible view.
For climbing the bell tower you need to pay 250 RUB, while a ticket to the Kremlin is also purchased separately. The site is open from May 15 to September 30, tickets are sold at the box office of the Alexander Garden no later than 45 minutes before the start of the tour. Visitors are allowed in sessions in groups of 10 people. However, in order to have time to get to the bell tower, it is better to come to the very opening of the box office, since there are not so many sessions a day - only five or six.
Another well-known site in the center of the capital is located in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. It is located near the metro station Kropotkinskaya.

The observation deck is not very high - only 40 meters, but the good location allows you to see interesting panorama Moscow. Kremlin, Arbat, Poklonnaya Gora, Pushkin Museum im. Pushkin and other main sights of Moscow. The ascent is carried out in an organized manner, as part of an excursion group, the current cost is 450 rubles.

One of the most interesting and at the same time the oldest observation decks is located in the building of Moscow State University on Sparrow Hills.

I wrote about the free viewing room above, the same platform on the 32nd floor of the educational building attracts not only with stunning views of the whole of Moscow, but from here the whole capital is “at a glance” - historical Buildings, mansions and churches, sleeping areas and green forest parks, wide avenues and narrow streets - all this metropolitan panorama can be captured by the eye, being on the observation deck, but also with its special atmosphere and history. The building, built in the middle of the 20th century, still keeps the indescribable atmosphere of the educational institution, known to us from Soviet films. Therefore, the tour, and most often with it it is possible to go to the observation deck, will leave only the most positive impressions. In addition to the site, it will be possible to wander through the main halls and halls, look at the sculptural busts of scientists, look into the classrooms, in general, get acquainted with a curious page of history. The cost of the tour is 600 - 800 rubles.
The observation deck known to everyone is located on the highest building in Europe - Ostankino television tower recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The TV tower is located at the address known to many since childhood, st. Academician Koroleva, 15, next to the station of the same name in the Leningrad direction.
The observation deck is at the level of 85 meters. Although the tower is far from the main central streets, in good weather from here you can literally see the whole of Moscow and even the surrounding villages near Moscow. A ticket to the observation deck costs 700 RUB on weekdays and 1100 on weekends, it is better to buy them in advance on the tower's website, while choosing early sessions to avoid excessive crowds. At the same time, children under 7 years old are not allowed, and due to the design features, also people with disabilities. There is an opportunity to visit the tour "The Tower from the inside", the cost is from 1100 to 1600 rubles.
In Gorky Park you can climb to the roof of the main gate.

From a height of 18 meters, a panorama of the park opens, as well as a view of the Sparrow Hills, the Shukhov Tower, Novy Arbat, the Neskuchny Garden, the skyscrapers of Moscow State University and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a separate group, I would include observation towers located in the buildings of high-rise hotels. For example, this should include two hotels located almost in the center of the city - Swissotel Krasnye Holmy (Paveletskaya metro station) and Radisson Royal, former Ukraine (Kievskaya metro station).

In the first hotel, the observation deck is located on the 34th floor along a 360-degree trajectory. In another hotel, a 120-meter-high platform is located on two floors at once - the 29th and 30th, the premises of which are occupied by an Italian restaurant. Huge panoramic windows of the restaurant on the closed terrace allow you to enjoy the views of the historical center of Moscow, the capital's architecture, the domes of churches, without getting up from the tables.
In general, Moscow's observation towers not only help to get to know the capital better, to see historical monuments, but in themselves are already interesting objects of architecture and urban planning. It remains to find the most attractive place for yourself and enjoy the views from there.

This site is not as popular as the famous observation deck on Sparrow Hills, and this is its charm. Park, Landmark, Landscape view

The main Moscow panorama - the observation deck on Sparrow Hills - was opened in 1953, simultaneously with the new building of Moscow State University. This place is definitely worth a visit if this is your first time in the "gold-domed" and want to see almost all the main symbols of the capital: Stalin's skyscrapers and "book" houses on Novy Arbat, the Foreign Ministry building and the White House, the Ostankino TV tower and the monument to Peter the Great... The list can be continued for a long time.

Not so long ago, free binoculars with a tenfold increase were installed on the observation deck, and now the sights can be viewed in detail. A breathtaking view also opens from the upper floors of the main building of Moscow State University, which can be accessed by pre-ordering a ticket to the Museum of Land Ownership. The site on Sparrow Hills is one of the most popular places in the city: there are always a lot of tourist groups here, a visit to the observation deck is also a traditional stopping point for wedding corteges. In spring and summer, Moscow bikers and street racing enthusiasts gather at the Vorobyovs. Due to the large number of visitors, this panorama is hardly suitable for a secluded romantic date, but to see " best city Earth "almost from a bird's eye view at least once in a lifetime is worth it to everyone.

High-rise attractions also provide an excellent opportunity to admire the panoramas of the "golden-domed". The most impressive of them is the Ferris Wheel at VDNKh, 70 meters in diameter. A full turn of the wheel takes 7 minutes, during which time you can enjoy the view of the renovated All-Russian Exhibition Center, the Cosmos Hotel, the Worker and Collective Farm Woman sculpture, and the Ostankino TV Tower. The attraction is open all year round, so you can ride it even in cool weather - however, in this case, it is better to prefer a closed cabin. The cost of tickets is quite democratic: 300-350 rubles, depending on the cabin configuration. Before visiting the attraction, you can take binoculars, the rental of which will cost 100 rubles. Another Ferris wheel, which operates all year round, is located in Sokolniki Park - it offers a picturesque view of the park itself and the surrounding areas. The cost of the trip is almost half as much: 150 rubles for adults and 120 rubles for children.

Restaurant

A visit to Europe's highest restaurant Sixty will allow you to get several impressions at once: here you can see an unforgettable panorama of the metropolis, try interesting dishes and plunge into the pleasant festive atmosphere around. The establishment is located on the 62nd floor of the Federation Tower in Moscow City. The best tables with a stunning view of the city are located near the glass walls of the establishment, but the restaurant is very popular, so sometimes there are not enough seats by the window for everyone. However, it is worth visiting Sixty not only because of the panoramas of the city.

The chef of the restaurant, Carlo Grecu, is known to many as a true master of his craft and a specialist in true Italian cuisine. The interior of the institution organically combines the irony, simplicity and brightness of the 60s era and modern style: it is both chic and cozy here. The average check in the institution is quite high, but dinner in the clouds against the backdrop of sunset is worth it.

The Ivan the Great Bell Tower can be considered the first "skyscraper" of the capital: after the addition in 1600, its height was 81 meters, and until the beginning of the 17th century, the bell tower was the tallest building in the country. The observation deck opened here in 2009, this event was preceded by a long period of restoration. From here, from a height of 25 meters, a breathtaking view of the Kremlin and the ancient streets of Zamoskvorechye opens. 137 steps lead upstairs - there is no lift in the ancient bell tower, so you need to calculate your strength. The observation deck is open only during the warm period - from April to October - and is open daily.
