What can you take to Italy. How to dress for a trip to Italy

07.02.2023

When going on vacation, someone makes lists of what they need to take with them, and someone packs a bag (backpack, suitcase) in an hour, not caring too much that they might forget to take something they need on the road. For some, packing up is a painful task, because you need to think through everything to the smallest detail, without losing sight of anything, but for someone it’s not scary that he will forget something at home.

Every time I go on a trip, I have to make a list of all the necessary things, and now, planning a car trip to Italy this summer, I am faced with this need again. And then I got the idea to compile a kind of general list of what you need to take with you on vacation, which is universal for everyone, and post it on the website so that anyone can simply print it out and use it to pack their suitcase.

Of course, this list can be adjusted at your own discretion, everyone has their own preferences and thoughts, but the things below will help you not to forget at least what is most likely necessary on vacation. First, run your eyes over it and cross out everything that you can do without, and then focus on it when collecting, ticking off what is already packed.

A list of necessary things that you will need on vacation, or what you need to take with you on the road.

1. Washing and other body care products that start your day with, or soap and soap accessories

  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • soap dish
  • Shampoo
  • Shower gel
  • washcloth
  • Body lotion after shower (if you can't live without it)
  • Shaving gel, aftershave lotion (in general, everything related to getting rid of excess vegetation)
  • Comb
  • Mirror (for women)
  • Hair gel, varnish, foam (who uses what, if he uses it at all)
  • Towel or two (for the shower and for the beach)
  • hygiene products
  • A handkerchief, a small towel for the journey
  • Cosmetics for women, toilet water, deodorant. Hand and face cream if your skin is dry and sensitive
  • Scissors, nail file.

2. Clothing

  • Underwear (everyone has their own list, you just need to remember to bring a change in the right amount with you)
  • T-shirts, T-shirts: it must be taken into account that there must be enough of them. Firstly, for a trip on the road, especially if it takes several days, you will need a changeable T-shirt, because the one in which you left loses its freshness in a day. Secondly, to sleep at the place of rest (or you will have to take pajamas with you if you cannot do without it). Thirdly, for walks and trips to the sea. Fourthly, for excursions involving walking in the mountains, through the forest, and so on.
  • Shorts, capris - for the road, for walking around the city, for the beach, for excursions
  • Sports pants - for walking in the mountains (on excursions), as well as on the road if it's cool
  • Socks to keep sneakers from chafing, and also in case it is cool, especially at night on the road
  • Jeans - for evening walks around the city in case it's cool
  • A warm jacket or bike - it can be cool on the road, and also useful for walking around the city in the evening
  • Something light, not hot, but covering the arms and legs as much as possible, for example, a shirt and the same sports trousers. I will explain why: you can burn out badly in the sun on the very first day, and then, any appearance on the street, under the scorching rays of the sun, without protection from clothing, will be unbearable for you.

3. Shoes

  • Beach flip flops
  • Sneakers or comfortable sandals for excursions and walks in the mountains and forest
  • Slippers for home pastime (many people cannot do without them even on vacation)
  • Comfortable and open shoes for walking around the city, local attractions, museums and other beautiful places where you can take pictures (sandals)
  • Shoes or something similar if it is important to you to look elegant (for a restaurant and the like). At this point, you can add appropriate clothing at your discretion: for women - a dress, for men - trousers and a shirt (with a tie). Personally, I think this item is redundant, but for someone it can be very useful.

4. Necessary and irreplaceable on the beach

  • At the beach: a protective sunscreen that won't burn you, with the highest protection factor when the skin is still white
  • Swimsuit for women, swimming trunks for men
  • Sunglasses, diving goggles
  • Cap, sun hat, towel
  • After the beach: an after-sun cream that moisturizes the skin, and also alleviates your condition if you still burn out. I can personally recommend the Panthenol spray, which restores burnt skin, which is sold in pharmacies. An indispensable remedy if you are burned out
  • Bedding, sun umbrella, air mattresses and circles, but this can also be purchased at the place of rest.

5. Necessary and irreplaceable on the road

  • Medicines and pills: for headaches (for example, citramon), for indigestion and poisoning (there is a high probability of getting poisoned by something on the road) - activated charcoal is not enough, I recommend polyphepan, as well as levomecithin, for better digestion (mezim), since Italian food can be difficult for your unaccustomed stomach to digest. And also a bactericidal patch, vitamin C (if you start to get sick, this is the first remedy), antipyretic (Fervex), if you suddenly pass through on the road
  • On the road, you can also take a thermos and disposable tableware
  • Both ordinary wipes and wet, antibacterial, as well as antibacterial hand gel will be indispensable
  • Something from food on the road, non-perishable foods (crackers, dryers, cookies). Be sure to take water, preferably not sweet
  • If you are traveling by car, then take a pillow (there are inflatable ones, under the neck).

6. The most basic

  • Passport and other documents (tourist voucher, insurance, etc.)
  • house keys
  • Money, wallet or wallet (it is still recommended to put money in a travel bag, and not keep it in one place, in a wallet)
  • Camera, video camera, replaceable batteries, battery charger
  • Charger for a mobile phone, player or whatever else you plan to take with you.

Of course, there are many more things that are not listed - such as an umbrella and washing powder for those who are trying to provide everything. But this is purely individual, I give only general recommendations.

I hope they will be useful to you and remind you that perhaps you almost forgot to take with you

Well, I wish you a successful and pleasant, in all respects, rest!

ITALY: REMINDER FOR TOURIST

Your trip to Italy begins with the receipt of documents on the eve of departure. Issuance of documents is carried out in the office or documents are sent to your e-mail (if the package of documents provides for an electronic version).

SECTION 5. Upon arrival at the hotel

The name of the hotel, its address and telephone number are indicated in the voucher issued to you.

The procedure for accommodation varies depending on the hotel, but, as a rule, it looks like this:

1. Present at the reception desk (reception) a foreign passport and a voucher (1 copy).

2. Fill in the registration card in English (data from the foreign passport);

3. Present your passport to the receptionist to make a photocopy of it (check with the reception when you can pick up your passport)

Please note that the receptionist may ask for a copy of your credit card as a guarantee. If you do not have a credit card, then the employee has the right to ask for a cash deposit, which will be returned upon departure from the hotel, if the hotel does not have financial claims related to the stay at the hotel.

The check-out time in most hotels is 12:00, but sometimes rooms in city hotels can be ready later - from 14:00 to 16:00, and in hotels in sea and ski resorts even from 15:00 to 17:00; in this case, things can be left in the hotel's storage room. In case of problems with accommodation, please contact a company representative.

After checking into your room, check the information provided by the hotel. Pay attention to what services are paid and how much they cost (as a rule, the information is in a folder and lies on a table or bedside table).

SECTION 6. While staying at the hotel/residence

Room keys are handed over to the administration when leaving the hotel.

It is recommended to keep money, valuables, passports, air tickets and documents in a safe in the room or at the hotel administration. For valuables not deposited in the hotel safe, the hotel administration is not responsible.

Do not forget to pay in advance the bills for additional services at the hotel: telephone calls, use of the mini-bar, laundry services, dry cleaning, etc.

Before using the service, find out how much it costs. In the event of a conflict with the hotel or restaurant administration (for example, refusal to pay for services), the administration representative has the right to act in accordance with Italian rules and laws.

There are no ironing rooms in Italian hotels, the use of an iron in the rooms is strictly prohibited. Before you hand over your clothes to the laundry, find out the lead time for the order (usually at least 24 hours).

Hotels often occupy historical buildings, rooms of the same category may be different in layout, size, etc.

When booking a single room, please be aware that these rooms are significantly smaller than the standard double room.

Smoking in hotels in common areas (hall, restaurant, bar) is prohibited. There are many non-smoking rooms in hotels.

It is allowed to invite guests to the room if the guest leaves some document at the reception desk. If the guest decides to spend the night with you, he will need to pay the cost of accommodation. It is also not officially forbidden to take towels from the room to the beach in almost all hotels. It is considered decent (and obligatory in some hotels) for dinner guests to be appropriately dressed: men in trousers, women in dresses.

CHAPTER 7. Nutrition

Changing the menu during breakfasts and dinners at the request of the tourist, as well as ordering additional dishes and drinks, is paid by the tourist additionally.

Tune in to the specifics of food in advance: in Italian hotels, breakfast is traditionally “strengthened continental”, i.e. very light, usually consisting of coffee/tea, bun, jam and butter. There may be sausage and cheese cuts, yogurt, fruits, muesli. It is customary to have dinner in Italy plentifully: dinner is more like a three-course lunch. Drinks are not included in the price of dinner, except for special dinners specified in the tour program.

PARAGRAPH 8. Excursions and transfers

Group tours and transfers: ordered and paid services, such as transfers, excursions, are provided to the tourist only at the time indicated in the program or voucher, which can be specified by the escort on the spot, depending on specific circumstances (for example, plane delay, traffic jams, bus breakdown, illness of the guide). A group transfer implies a common transfer for all tourists staying in hotels in the same region, arriving on the same flight or on flights whose waiting times are combined. The transfer is carried out accompanied by a Russian-speaking guide, who gives general information about the country and the company's services that tourists can purchase. A group transfer does not include bulky luggage: bicycles, surfboards, etc. Tourists with oversized luggage must book a private transfer. In case of arrival of tourists at the destination airport with oversized luggage, the host company reserves the right to charge an additional fee for an individual transfer. If there is no transfer for more than 15 minutes, please contact your companion at the phone number indicated in the voucher or program.

Individual excursions and transfers: for each individual service, there must be a separate voucher, which indicates the day, time, meeting place, as well as a contact telephone number to call in case of problems and questions. Individual transfer is carried out on a separate car. The type of car is provided at the discretion of the receiving party and based on the availability of a particular car at the time of the service.

Please note that the maximum waiting time for a tourist for a transfer at the airport, port, railway station is 1 hour. If the waiting time on the transfer is an hour or more, you must contact the receiving company (see paragraph 4, point 4). For individual tourists who have not ordered an escorted transfer, the services of a representative at the airport are not provided.

Please note that in Venice the boat driver is not allowed to leave the vehicle. On the transfer from the railway station to the hotel, the driver is waiting for you at the pier. If you need a meeting at the head of the train or at the station, an additional assistant service is booked.

Individual excursions to museums: entrance tickets are paid on the spot, waiting in line with a guide reduces the time of the tour (long lines to the Vatican Museums, the Uffizi Gallery, etc.). Attention, entrance to cathedrals and churches is prohibited in shorts, short skirts, as well as with bare shoulders. When planning your next tour, pay attention to this rule.

Attention! For things left on the bus, forgotten in the hotel and other places, neither the accompanying group, nor the travel companies, nor the administration of hotels, restaurants, transport companies are responsible.

CHAPTER 9. Meeting with a hotel guide (for residents of the resort)

The time of the informational meeting with the hotel guide will be communicated to you by the escort on the way to the hotel. At the appointed time, we invite you to come to a meeting with the hotel guide, who will be waiting for you in the hotel lobby (some hotels have a separate room for info meetings). Take a copy of your foreign passport, voucher, air ticket for the return flight with you to the meeting.

For all questions and problems, please contact the hotel guide or the hotel reception. You will learn the guide's coordinates (name, mobile phone) at the information meeting. Please note that guides are not located in hotels. After the informational meeting, you can contact the guide by phone, which he will leave you.

Attention! There is no operational service on some routes. Information support for tourists is provided by phone, the numbers of which you will find in the package of documents.

PARAGRAPH 10. emergency medical care

To receive emergency medical care, you need to call the service center of the insurance company and briefly state your last name, insurance policy number, what happened and the contact phone number. You will be explained the procedure for the next steps, which you must strictly follow. You should not apply for medical help on your own (without calling the insurance company) - in this case, you will have to bear the costs of treatment on your own and, upon returning to Russia, submit payment documents to the insurance company for consideration. We remind you that diseases associated with pregnancy and the consequences of alcohol or drug intoxication are not insured events.

CHAPTER 11. On the eve of departure home

Go to the reception, check if you have unpaid bills for additional services (use of the minibar, telephone, etc.). If you have debts, pay them off.

An information letter will be brought to your room about the time of departure and departure from the hotel. If this letter was not brought to your room by the evening, after dinner, go to the reception and clarify the information.

SECTION 12. Departure from the hotel

On the day of departure, rooms in hotels are usually vacated by 09:00-11:00, and in apartments - by 09:00. Before the set time, hand over the keys at the reception. You can leave your luggage in the hotel's storage room.

In many cities in Italy, when you check out of a hotel, you must pay a communal tax. This tax is obligatory, payable in cash only and amounts to 2-6 euros / person / day, depending on the category of hotel, city, season of arrival.

In order to avoid various complications, please do not be late and come to the transfer 5-10 minutes before the specified time.

ARTICLE 13. Arrival at the Italian airport for departure

During the return transfer from the hotel to the airport, the attendant will tell you the check-in desk numbers, tell you about the process of checking in for the flight and checking in luggage, passing through passport and customs control, processing and receiving Tax Free (VAT refund). The amount from which the tax refund starts changes frequently. As of 2014, in most stores, when buying goods on the same day in the amount of 155 euros, you can get TAX FREE. The tax refund is made at the airport, at the TAX FREE office upon presentation of an application for TAX FREE (filled in at the store), a check and goods in a package. Customs stamps you and you can collect your money at Tax-free Cash Refund. You can also get TAX FREE at an authorized bank by presenting an application for TAX FREE with a seal (put at the airport).

1. Check in for the flight (present your passport and ticket).

2. Check in your luggage at the check-in desk.

3. Get your boarding pass. Pay attention to the exit number (GATE) and the time to board the aircraft (TIME).

4. Go through passport control (present your foreign passport with visa and boarding pass).

5. Go to the departure hall and wait for the boarding announcement.

In case of loss of a passport, air ticket or luggage, please immediately inform the representative of the tour operator about this, who will tell you how you can solve the problem.

SECTION 14. Personal safety

In order for you to remember your trip only from the most pleasant side, we advise you to follow the following rules:

Do not leave valuables unattended. Including hotel, restaurant and bus. You can’t take a seat by putting a bag on a table or chair, putting your phone, room keys, etc.

Valuables should be stored only in a safe in the room, and in the absence - in a safe at the reception (even if for a small fee). The hotel is not responsible for things left in the room. An exception is valuables left in a safe with obvious signs of burglary (within the limits of hotel insurance).

Things on the seat of the bus or car should not be left, so as not to provoke robbers. It is necessary to hide everything in the luggage compartment.

Be especially sensitive to documents: keep them either in a safe or with you. Don't carry your passport with you unless absolutely necessary, a photocopy will suffice.

Beware of pickpockets, especially in crowded places and on public transport.

Do not buy deliberately counterfeit products from street vendors. Under Italian law, you can be fined for facilitating the sale of counterfeit products.

If you lose your passport, you must personally apply to the Consulate for a certificate of return. You will need copies of documents certifying your Russian citizenship, photographs, and in some cases, evidence of at least two Russian citizens who know you personally. Therefore, treat passports with special attention, because the procedure for obtaining a certificate is not fast and very expensive (a delay in Italy entails additional costs for a new air ticket, hotel, travel)

SECTION 15. Financial discipline

We recommend that tourists be aware of the rather strict tax laws in Italy. The Financial Guard ensures that all transactions are carried out through the cash register and documented in the form of a check. If in Russia financial inspectors fine only a merchant who “forgot” to issue a check to a client, in Italy the financial guard can also fine a consumer who, after paying for a product or service, will not be able to show the check to the inspectors. It should always be remembered that, under Italian law, the consumer can be stopped for inspection within a radius of 50 m from the place where the goods were purchased or the service was consumed, and that the penalty for missing a receipt is 300 US dollars. In Italy, you should always keep a receipt for a paid product or service until you are a good distance away from the place of purchase.

Attention!

Tourists are obliged to comply with local laws, norms of behavior, respect traditions, cultural and religious customs. Failure to comply with laws may result in liability. You must be careful while traveling, follow the rules of personal safety, monitor the safety of your property and documents.

If the client has a justified claim during the tour, in order to eliminate it, one should contact the company's representatives in Italy, representatives of the host Italian company or the Meridian Express office in Moscow.

A country beloved by tourists for its colorfulness and originality, for its architectural monuments and sights known throughout the world, for its delicious cuisine and quality shopping. What to take with you to Italy so that no misunderstanding overshadows your vacation?

Take care of the documents: your suitcase should contain a passport, international passport, international driving license (if you rent a car) and a plastic card. There is no point in carrying cash with you - there are so many ATMs in the country that you can withdraw money at almost every corner. Before leaving, do not forget to find out and save in your phone the number of the Russian embassy in Italy and the phone number of the call center of the bank that owns the card - in case it is stolen or lost.

When collecting a first aid kit, consider some of the nuances. First, if you plan to take part in walking tours, be aware that in most Italian cities, squares and central streets are paved with stones. No matter what shoes you wear, sooner or later calluses will appear on your feet. You should have corn patches and corn cream in your suitcase. For the same reason, a pumice stone or foot grater is also useful. Secondly, in most pharmacies, a contact lens moisturizing solution is sold by prescription from an ophthalmologist. It is unlikely that you want to run to doctors in a foreign country for the sake of buying it - so it's easier to bring it with you. However, carrying liquids in excess of 1750-0_bgblur_00 ml. is prohibited by the laws of the country. In addition, the bottle must be carefully packed in cellophane film. To prevent annoying insects from disturbing you during sleep, take an electric fumigator and plates for it with you. Will you eat in small cafes, and not in a hotel? Put medicines for poisoning and indigestion in the first aid kit. In case of a cold, you will need antiviral and antipyretic drugs. In order not to miss sightseeing due to a headache or PMS, supplement your first aid kit with pain medication. Zelenka is required to treat wounds and cuts. During sightseeing trips, it is not always possible to wash your face or wash your hands - you should have wet wipes in your bag. Due to the change in time zones, hormonal contraceptives may not have the desired effect - replace them with condoms.

Of course, you will want to capture the beauty of Italy on your camera. The camera must be packed and declared to customs. Since there is so much to see in this country, the memory of your digital camera will fill up pretty quickly. Buy a second flash card for insurance. They can serve you well even if you take an mp3 player with you on vacation. Also don't forget to bring your charger and batteries.

You can not take the boiler with you - you will have problems with the administration if it is "discovered". An adapter to the sockets is also not required. Have you chosen a three-star hotel? Be prepared for the fact that you need to take a hair dryer and an iron with you - otherwise you will have to pay 20-30 € for their rent. For hygiene reasons, you should have a manicure set and a washcloth in your suitcase.

What to take with you from clothes for a trip to obstinate and passionate Italy? When choosing a vacation wardrobe, remember that Catholic traditions are very strong in this country. It is advisable to inspect temples and holy places (so as not to offend the feelings of believers) in clothes with long sleeves. Women should have a scarf on their heads, their shoulders and décolleté should be covered with clothes - for this purpose, take a stole or shawl with you.

Many travelers sincerely believe that Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, and indeed the whole world. Its landscapes are extremely diverse - there are high mountains and luxurious sandy beaches, orange groves and lakes with crystal clear water.

But due to the subtropical climate and the special mentality of the locals, it is necessary to gather in Italy very carefully. You will need many things that will make your stay in the Apennines comfortable and safe.

We select clothes for churches and cathedrals

If you want to properly pack for Italy, first of all, start studying your wardrobe. Remember: all Italians are very religious. Being true Catholics, they react painfully to people who enter the church in inappropriate clothes. In their opinion, when visiting a holy place, both women and men should look extremely modest. So if you plan to visit the wonderful Italian cathedrals, be sure to take with you:

  • summer fabric trousers (but not jeans!);
  • skirt or dress below the knee. It is important that the dress also covers the neckline;
  • any clothing that covers the shoulders;
  • a scarf or scarf with which women can cover their heads;
  • light closed shoes.

It is not recommended to enter Italian cathedrals in shorts or off-the-shoulder T-shirts. This rule should be followed especially strictly in Sicily, Puglia and other regions of southern Italy. The locals are very conservative and will at least give the tourist a strict lecture or even kick him out of the church.

Hiking shoes

Absolutely necessary things for a trip to Italy are light sports sneakers or flat summer boots. Pavements in many Italian cities, especially small ones, are stone, paved with large cobblestones. Walking on them in stilettos or even simple sandals is not very comfortable. Very quickly you will knock your feet or just ruin your shoes.

In addition, the terrain in Italy is predominantly hilly. And some towns are even located in the mountains, at an altitude of at least 500-600 m above sea level. It is best to go up and down rocky mountain roads in sneakers or light shoes, but not in sandals. They are more suitable for the Russian South - our resorts are not distinguished by sharp elevation changes. So if you don't know what to bring with you to Sochi, take sandals - these are the best shoes for this city.

Pay close attention to appearance

Be sure to remember: we are going to Italy, the world capital of fashion and the fashion industry. Most Italians have a great sense of style. Even the villagers here dress with great taste, albeit very simply. That is why tourists from the CIS, flaunting stretched T-shirts, faded shorts and socks dressed under worn-out sandals, make many Italians laugh.

Of course, well-mannered people won't point fingers at you. But the difference in clothes between you and the locals will be immediately visible. Psychologically, this is very uncomfortable, because you will almost always see smirks on the faces of passers-by. Therefore, in order not to worry about this, take on a trip:

  • breeches, capris or the already mentioned light summer trousers. This is the best alternative to the shorts that our tourists love so much. By the way, the Italians themselves practically do not wear shorts;
  • several short sleeve shirts. They will go to replace T-shirts with ridiculous inscriptions or drawings;
  • several neckerchiefs;
  • light jacket in a light shade.

Some women who decide to pack for a trip to Europe make sure to take stilettos with them. These are completely impractical shoes, and besides, they are very vulgar by Italian standards. It is better to grab ballet flats or flat shoes.

If you are going to travel in the off-season or to the mountainous regions of the country, take some warm sweaters.

sunscreen cosmetics

Since we are going for a trip to Italy, do not forget about sunscreen. From May to the end of September it is very hot in the Apennines - the air temperature can reach up to 35-37 degrees. Even if you do not plan to relax at sea, it is necessary to apply the cream on the face, forearms and other exposed areas of the body. Solar activity is especially high in the southern part of the country, in Sardinia and Sicily. You can get a sunburn here in just 15 minutes.

Accessories for men and women

When packing for a trip to Italy, do not forget about accessories. Of course, you will need hats. But not banal baseball caps, but caps, hats and panamas of discreet shades. They make travelers look a bit like locals and don't make them smile indulgently. Also take with you:

  • sunglasses, preferably glass - they better protect the eyes from ultraviolet radiation;
  • light scarf.

Women can take a fan with them. This accessory can often be seen on the streets of Italian cities.

Beware of street scammers and pickpockets!

In the big cities of Italy, especially in Milan, Rome and Naples, tourists may encounter street scammers. Under the guise of random passers-by, they ingratiate themselves with visitors and offer to show the city, take a short tour, rent an apartment at a very favorable price, etc.

The “wiring” scheme may be different, but in the end it will end with the fact that the money will be removed from you, but the services will not be provided. Therefore, do not give in to persuasion and do not believe the tempting promises of strangers, no matter how friendly they may seem.

Pickpockets can operate in crowded places (in markets, near famous sights, etc.) in Italy. To avoid becoming their victim:

  • do not carry money without a wallet, and a wallet in external pockets. Better hide it under your clothes;
  • don't lose sight of your bag or backpack. Try to keep them in such a way that it would be impossible to sneak up behind and quietly unzip (cut the pocket).

First aid kit, insurance and other paramount things

What to take on a trip to Italy? Of course, the basic set of any traveler is a first aid kit, photocopies of tickets and passports, insurance, a plastic card with money “just in case a fireman”. These things are needed for a trip to any country, and Italy is no exception. However, let's hope you don't need them.

Well, it seems that's all - you are ready to go. We wish you good luck and pleasant impressions from inimitable Italy!

What to take with you to Italy, and what can you do without? Seasoned tourists have a motto - "Luggage minimum - maximum comfort", and this, perhaps, should be followed. You should not take too many things with you: firstly, there should be room in the suitcases for the purchases that you will make during the trip, and secondly, lifting weights is not the most pleasant activity. Nevertheless, there are things that you cannot do without during a trip, and we will talk about them.

Clothing and footwear

When choosing a wardrobe for a vacation, you should take into account the weather conditions, as well as the purpose of your trip. In the summer, you should take care of light clothes and shoes, as well as hats that can protect from bright sunlight. Sunscreen will also help, especially if you have long excursions or trips to the beach ahead of you. Speaking of the beach - making a list What to bring to Italy do not forget about bathing suits (one or two is enough), beach shoes that are comfortable to walk on both sand and pebbles, as well as beach towels.

When choosing a wardrobe for a vacation, you should consider both the weather conditions and the purpose of the trip.

Pay attention to shoes for everyday wear - they should be as comfortable as possible, able to withstand long walks, long excursions, and shopping trips. In the centers of many Italian cities, entire blocks are often paved with paving stones, which is also an argument in favor of, first of all, comfortable shoes. If evening outings are coming, the ladies will have to bring an elegant dress and matching shoes or sandals, and the men - a suit and closed shoes.

Going to Italy in winter or autumn, take care of warm clothes that correspond to the temperature regime of the part of the country you are going to - often the weather in the northern and southern regions is strikingly different. Do not forget about protection from rains, which are not so rare in Italy in autumn - an umbrella and a raincoat will not take up much space in your luggage. However, these attributes can also be purchased locally. Luckily they are very cheap.

To go to the theater or a restaurant, you will also need an evening outfit.

It should be noted that Italy is a country in which Catholic traditions are strong. If you plan to visit temples or other holy places, don't forget to dress appropriately for the occasion - with covered shoulders and long sleeves. It is also good for women to have a scarf or stole with which you can cover your head and drape your neckline.

Personal hygiene items

Italian hotels are distinguished by a high level of comfort: if you book a room in a hotel marked with three or more stars, there is no need to bring soap or shampoo with you - as a rule, guests are provided with these necessary little things. Of course, if you use only a certain brand of shampoo, you will have to make room for it in your suitcase, as it may not be available in the nearest stores. Far from all hotels supply guests with toothpaste, but this does not mean at all that it will have to be brought from home; if necessary, it can be purchased on the spot - in the nearest store or supermarket. It is perhaps not worth mentioning handkerchiefs and wet wipes - you cannot do without them during a trip.
