The company was formed in 1967, but then became a subsidiary of Vim-Avia.

It covers such destinations as Irkutsk, Krasnodar, etc.

Its fleet includes Yak-40, Mi-8T and Mi-8 aircraft. There are 8 aircraft in total.

Flying by plane involves checking in baggage, one part of which is sent to a special compartment, and the other part is taken on board by the airline passenger. Moreover, each airline has its own rules and regulations for the carriage of such cargo. VIM-Avia hand luggage is no exception.

How much hand luggage can you take on board (weight and size allowed)

Before purchasing an air ticket, it is advisable to clarify the restrictions (limits) on the weight and dimensions (size) of hand luggage on VIM-Avia aircraft. According to the carrier's rules, this type of cargo is included in the free baggage allowance. In this case, the permissible weight depends on the applicable tariff.

How many kilograms (kg) of hand luggage can you take on VIM-Avia airliners? A number of requirements apply here (taking into account the tariff plan):

  • "Promo", "Economy" and "Economy Plus" - up to 5 kg(one place).
  • "Economy Comfort" and "Business" - up to 10 kg(one place).

The carry-on baggage limit is common to all fares and is 115 cm, namely 55*40*20 cm.

VIM-Avia hand luggage - transportation rules

The next point that is worth understanding is the peculiarities of transporting baggage and hand luggage on aircraft. Here are the following requirements:

  • Places for hand luggage and baggage on board VIM-Avia are under the seat of the passenger sitting in front. An alternative placement option is on a shelf above your seat.
  • When registering cargo at the registration desk, a special “To the cabin” tag must be hung on the items. In addition, a note is made on the paper receipt about the weight of things carried on board the plane.
  • Some cargo is allowed to be transported above the established norm, namely an umbrella, a cane, a bouquet of flowers, a folder, a briefcase or a woman’s handbag. This category also includes a tablet, video camera, camera and other things. More detailed information can be obtained on the official website or by calling the carrier’s hotline. A car seat for a child, a wheelchair (when flying a disabled person), stretchers and crutches are also allowed for transportation.
  • The mentioned items are not weighed before loading and are not measured to ensure compliance with the permissible dimensions.

Rules for transporting liquids

Above, we looked at how much hand luggage can be carried (in terms of weight and size), and learned the specifics of registering and transporting these items on board the aircraft. An equally important issue is the transportation of liquids. Over the years the carrier has operated, the rules have become significantly stricter.

Thus, all transported liquids must be packaged in a special plastic bag. An exception is medications that a passenger may need on board an airliner. There are also restrictions regarding the permissible capacity - no more than 100 ml. In this case, the volume of the bag in which the container with liquid is sealed should not be more than one liter. These standards apply to everything - lotions, water, toothpaste, gels, cosmetics and other liquid formulations.

If the product was purchased at the airport, it can be transported on a VIM-Avia plane as hand luggage only if it is in a sealed bag. Also, the passenger must have a receipt that confirms the fact of purchase of the goods, with the date of purchase. In this case, the number indicated in the document must correspond to the day of departure. The package is sealed directly at the point of purchase.

Carrying baggage on board an aircraft

As noted, VIM-Avia clients should know rules for transporting hand luggage and baggage. Regarding the second “category” of things, it is worth highlighting the following nuances:

  • Baggage that is highly fragile and valuable can be transported in the cabin.
  • Carriage of baggage on board must be previously agreed with airline representatives. When purchasing a travel document, you must reserve luggage space and pay for it.

  • Mass of things carried in the cabin cannot be more than 80 kg, and the dimensions must be such that the luggage fits in the passenger seat.
  • The cargo packaging must have special fasteners that allow it to be secured to the chair.
  • The passenger must lift luggage into the cabin personally.
  • Payment for such transportation is carried out at a 100% rate.

Knowing the rules and regulations for transporting hand luggage on a VIM-Avia aircraft allows you to avoid flight delays, problems with the carrier and unnecessary costs.

Many passengers ignore VIM-Avia's baggage rules, which is why they encounter many problems already at the check-in stage. But violation of existing standards can lead to various troubles, starting with an increased level of costs (the need to pay for extra bed) and ending with refusal of transportation. It is not difficult to avoid these problems - it is enough to know the rules and regulations of VIM-Avia transportation in relation to various categories of cargo - registered or hand luggage. But more about everything.

VIM-Avia baggage restrictions and rules

VIM-Avia has strict standards regarding transported cargo, which are extremely important to know. Wherein Air carrier limits largely depend on the selected tariff plan, which also needs to be taken into account:

  • In the Promo tariff The limit is 10 kg, and for hand luggage - 5 kg.
  • In option Economy the passenger gets more space for luggage (up to 23 kg). As for hand luggage, the conditions here remain unchanged (up to 5 kg).
  • IN Economy Plus o additional space is opened, and the weight remains 23 kg. The baggage rules on board VIM-Avia remain unchanged - up to 5 kg.
  • In the tariff Economy Comfort 2 seats are provided and the maximum weight is 32 kg. As for hand luggage, the limit is higher - up to 10 kg (two pieces).
  • Business- the most favorable tariff plan. Its peculiarity is the presence of two places for checked cargo (up to 32 kg), as well as space for hand luggage (up to 10 kg).

As for the dimensions, the requirements here are identical for all tariffs. So, in the case of registered cargo, the limit is 203 cm. For VIM-Avia hand luggage, the carriage rules are more stringent - 115 cm.

There are a number of other rules regarding hand luggage in the cabin of a ship.:

  • Items carried on board must be placed under the front seat or on the top shelf.
  • All cargo that a passenger takes on board must be marked with a special tag. As a rule, there is an inscription on it - “Into the cabin”. At the same time, the obligation to take care of their belongings lies with the owner. The air carrier is not responsible for the cargo.
  • VIM-Avia's baggage transportation rules allow for the transportation of certain items in excess of the current norm. This category includes a folder, handbag, briefcase, bouquet of flowers, suit (provided it is in the briefcase), photo and video camera, crutches, child car seat and much more.

The mentioned items do not have to be presented for weighing before boarding. In addition, they do not need to be decorated and labeled with tags attached to the top.

Rules for transporting animals

Many VIM-Avia passengers travel with pets, so knowledge of the rules for transporting animals is mandatory. Full recommendations are provided on the carrier's official website. Below we will consider only the most important points. So, if you intend to travel with an animal, the passenger must inform the carrier about this in advance, even at the stage of booking the ticket.

It is also worth considering the following:

  • All animals may be carried on board only if accompanied.
  • The weight of the animal (taking into account its “temporary home”) should not exceed 8 kg (this requirement applies to both the board and the cargo compartment).
  • The weight of such “cargo” is not included in the weight standard for general baggage, which is carried free of charge. Payment is made taking into account tariffs specific to excess cargo.
  • Only one animal or a pair of puppies (kittens) up to six months old can be transported in one cage. It is prohibited to place dogs and cats in the same cage.
  • The weight of an animal transported in the luggage compartment must not exceed 50 kg.
  • For transportation, it is necessary to prepare a special cage in advance. It should be comfortable for the pet and made using rigid structures. In this case, the height of the container should be 3-5 cm higher than the animal.
  • It is necessary to have special holes for the required volume of air to enter.

It is worth considering that when flying with an animal, the owner must have all the necessary documents in his hands. At the same time, VIM-Avia airlines have the right to tighten the rules for transporting animals and limit the number of pets transported in the cabin. In general, there should be no more than four.

Results

Knowing the rules for transporting hand luggage on VIM-air and cargo to be transported in a special compartment, you can avoid many conflict situations before and during the flight.

1. Transportation of certain categories of passengers: passengers with disabilities, pregnant women, infants (0-2 years)

  • Passengers with disabilities

When transporting a sick or disabled Passenger, the Carrier must be provided with a medical report signed by a doctor prior to the flight, containing permission to transport him by air, and also indicate special requirements for the conditions of carriage of such a Passenger.

Transportation of a disabled or sick person is carried out under the condition that the Carrier does not bear any liability to the Passenger for its consequences for him, which is certified by the Passenger's warranty.

After a sick Passenger/disabled person is boarded for a flight, the Carrier must notify ground staff at transit, transfer and destination points about the presence of a sick Passenger and/or disabled person on board the aircraft.

Carriage of a Passenger on a stretcher is permitted only in the economy class cabin and only with an accompanying person. Three seats are reserved for such a passenger. Special discounts (children, youth, students, seniors, etc.) apply only to one seat, the remaining two must be paid in the amount of 100% of the applied economy class passenger fare; transportation of an accompanying person is paid separately. In cases where the patient cannot be moved from a stretcher to a chair, the possibility of transporting him is determined by a preliminary agreement between the Carrier and the person accompanying the patient.

Attention! The carrier has the right to refuse to transport a patient on a stretcher if the aircraft does not have the conditions necessary for transporting such patients.

For sick and disabled people, medications, a folding chair (stroller) transported in the cabin, and crutches are transported free of charge and are not included in the free baggage allowance. A passenger transported with an electric wheelchair is allowed to be transported with an accompanying person, while the electric wheelchair is transported on the aircraft as regular checked baggage. The carrier should provide information to the destination or transfer point that there is a Passenger with a wheelchair on board. This information indicates the name of the Passenger, the location of the stroller and separately located electric batteries.

In order to ensure flight safety, fulfill technical or operational requirements. The carrier may limit the number or refuse to carry sick (disabled) passengers on any of its flights, even if qualified escort is available.

  • Pregnant women and newborn children

The age of the child is determined on the day the transportation begins. The carrier has the right to check the age of the child.

If the route changes after the start of transportation, the ticket is reissued at a fare with a discount for a child corresponding to the status (age) of the child on the date of start of transportation, even if the status (age) of the child has changed by the time the transportation is reissued.

Overweight luggage at the airport may cause additional costs. Before you go on a trip, you should find out in advance what cargo transportation standards are accepted by Aeroflot, S7, Ural Airlines and many others and .

Weighing luggage at the airport

There are 2 systems:

  • weight;
  • depending on the number of seats.

If we talk about the first one, then it only assumes that the weight of your luggage will be limited. For example, if you can carry only 20 kg, then without additional payment you can take with you only 2 suitcases, the weight of each should not exceed 10 kg. Anything over 20 kg will be considered by the airline as exceeding the norm. You will have to pay extra for excess luggage.

For example, the airline has determined that 20 kg can be carried. You take 2 suitcases with you. 1 bag - 17 kg, and 2 bags - 11 kg. You need to calculate the total amount, it is 28 kg. Subtract the allowed weight of luggage, as a result you will get the following value: 28-20=8. You will have to pay extra for 8 kg.

There is another system, it takes into account the number of seats. If we talk about a flight in economy class, then passengers have the right to check in only 1 suitcase. Its weight should not exceed 23 kg.

Utair airline baggage fees

For a better understanding, it is worth considering 2 examples.

Situation 1. You took 2 suitcases with you on a trip. You loaded the first lightly - 10 kg, but the second is heavier - 13 kg. Calculating the total weight, you get 23 kg. But it is worth considering that airlines with such a system also limit the amount of luggage. As a result, you will receive an excess of luggage, it is 1 piece.

Situation 2. You have 1 bag, its weight is 28 kg. Although you fit the number of seats, an excess weight of 5 kg will be recorded.

How much does excess baggage cost?

The cost of excess baggage depends on the standards the airline uses as well as the destination. You should always check with the airline for specific numbers. Employees of Aeroflot, Pobeda and S7 companies will always provide assistance to passengers.

The cost of excess baggage may vary from company to company.

If the carrier uses a weighing system, then you will have to pay extra for each kilogram that is recorded above the established limit. Payment is influenced by airline policies and destinations. The cost is calculated taking into account transportation in economy class, and the highest fare is taken into account.

For 1 kg of excess weight, an amount equal to 1.5% of the ticket will be taken. In addition, the air carrier may set a fixed size. Typically, the cost of 1 kg of excess weight varies within reasonable limits; a passenger will be charged from 5 to 10 euros.

For example, you are going to fly from Paris to Berlin. In economy class you can carry a suitcase whose weight does not exceed 20 kg. Your bag weighs 24 kg. We can say that the excess was 4 kg. If the tariff for baggage transportation in excess of the established standard is 10 euros per 1 kg, then you will have to pay an additional 40 euros.

Some companies have adopted restrictions not only on weight, but also on the number of seats. In this case, the cost will be calculated differently. You will have to pay extra for excess baggage space that you occupy and for kilograms carried in excess of the norm.

For example, if you are flying from Milan to London, you are entitled to 23 kg of free baggage allowance. Let's say you have a heavy bag, its weight is 31 kg. The airline has set tariffs: if the weight of luggage is more than 23, but less than 32 kg, you will have to pay 100 euros. Keep in mind how much you exceed the norm does not matter. In any case, you will pay 100 euros for an excess of 3 kg and 9 kg.

What to do if you have several suitcases? For example, you took 2 bags with you on a trip. One weighs 20 kg, the other is a little lighter. Let the second bag weigh 14 kg. In this case, there will be an excess, but in terms of the number of places. You will have to pay for 1 more place, usually 50 euros.

Please note that in some situations it is much more profitable to pay extra for 1 piece than to pay for baggage transportation in excess of the established standards. It is recommended to always have a small amount with you, so that the airport staff’s demands will not take you by surprise.

One more example is worth considering. You go on a trip and take 2 suitcases with you. The weight of one bag is 26 kg, and the second is slightly lighter - 15 kg. We can say that airport staff will record an excess not only in the weight of luggage, but also in the number of seats. You will have to pay 100 euros for transporting heavy suitcases. In addition, be prepared to pay 50 euros for 1 additional place. In the end you will pay 150 euros.

What can be done in such a situation? It is best to put some of the things from the heaviest suitcase into a lighter bag. As a result, you will only pay extra for 1 additional seat.

When planning a trip, pay attention to the fact that the weight of 1 suitcase should not exceed 32 kg. If an excess is recorded, the cargo will be considered oversized. Most airports simply won't carry it; you'll have to handle the shipping yourself. At many airports around the world, baggage handlers will not carry bags that weigh more than 32 kg. They are prohibited from doing this. Explore. Almost every airport provides it, but it is paid.

It is worth paying attention to one more rule. We are talking about coordinating transportation oversized cargo. Be sure to notify Utair airline or another carrier, otherwise the suitcase may not be accepted for transportation. The air carrier has the right to do this.

Where to pay

To pay for baggage, if you have exceeded the standards, you should contact specialists. Payment counters are located at all airports. You can find out about its location by contacting the employee at the reception desk. Here you will be told about the cost of baggage carried in excess of the norm.

First, your bag will be weighed. Often, passengers do not even have to pay for a small excess of baggage on the plane. Of course, we are talking about 2-3 kg.

Payment counter for additional services at Domodedovo Airport

Review the information provided to clients. Additional payment for excess weight is possible not only at the airport. For example, in 2019, UTair airlines allow 23 kg of baggage in economy class. Aeroflot has established similar standards. But in economy comfort and business class, 2 additional seats of 32 kg each are provided. Special conditions are offered to participants of the UTair “Status” program. Detailed information You can find out from your airline representative.

How to avoid exceeding standards

If you travel quite often, then it makes sense to purchase manual scales. This way you will always know the weight of your suitcase. To avoid overweight, it is recommended to do the following:

Example of a luggage scale

Find out the cost of business class tickets. Such tickets are offered by Aeroflot, they can be purchased at UTair.

Passengers, having purchased such a ticket, have the right to carry many things. You are given the opportunity to take 2 seats, transport 2 times 32 kg each.

Of course, such tickets are expensive, it’s easier to just pay extra for the excess. Nevertheless, it is still worth studying the information of air carriers.

Explore the offers that are available to airline customers within bonus programs. High-status travelers may carry heavy suitcases. With a weight system, you will be able to carry an additional 10 kg of luggage on the plane. With a seat-based system, you will be entitled to 1 additional piece with 23 kg of baggage. Such privileges are provided to participants of the bonus system who have received silver or gold status. UTair and Aeroflot have developed Special offers for passengers who frequently use air carrier services.

Bring an extra bag with you when traveling. If the need arises, you will transfer things into it.
