Another interesting activity in Bali is submarine diving. It descends 45 meters or more underwater, which makes it possible to see at depth what is usually only accessible to divers. Well, the very fact of walking on a submarine and taking a selfie against its background already deserves attention.

Diving and snorkeling in Tulamben and Menjangan

Diving in Bali is wonderful, in principle, you don’t have to describe anything further, just put an end to it))

There are gorgeous coral gardens here, and rare species of fish, turtles, and stingrays can be found underwater. The main diving spots include Tulamben with Amed and Menjangan.
Among the interesting things - in Tulamben there is a sunken ship Liberty, we dived to it even without equipment, if there are no waves, then the water is clear and the visibility is excellent, but of course, it’s much more interesting to go down to the very bottom of the ship, climb inside, you can’t do without scuba gear :)

Menjangan is located in the north-west of the island, but we haven’t managed to get there ourselves yet, and few tourists get there, although according to stories, it’s very cool there. As soon as we go, we will write about this place in more detail.

And the most amazing diving, according to diving friends who have dived here many times, is just off the coast of the small island of Nusa Penida (just half an hour by speedboat from Bali). It is there that some of the best places for diving are found, because huge manta rays and other more exotic inhabitants of the warm sea are found there.

There is a good diving school on Nusa Penida, during ours we met some European guys, the founders of the diving school, but alas, we never dived with them, because we were in the season of muddy water, when the manta rays temporarily migrated to deeper places . Penida has spots both for advanced divers with underwater grottoes and caves, and those that can be reached from the shore without a boat, which is convenient for beginners.

Well, if you want not just to look at the fish, but to see something larger, then it is best to go to the neighboring island of Nusa Penida and dive there with manta rays (huge stingrays).

At the point where the mantas are found, you can... Well, if you have a couple of days left, we recommend staying on Nusa Penida for a couple of days - this is a very beautiful island. Again, you can get there and plan the entire route yourself, or you can do it as part of a group - they will pick you up from your hotel, take you to the island and show you all the most interesting things there.

Rafting

There are 2 rivers in Bali that are suitable for rafting. Rafting on the Ayung River is considered more scenic because there are gorges/canyons, small waterfalls, and even a wall with Balinese engravings. The river itself, despite the large number of category II and III rapids, is still calmer, so the descent here is not for sporting interest, but more, as they say, “for fun” :) Rafting is possible even with children (from 8 years old).

The second river, Telaga Waja, has fewer scenic spots along the route, but as a bonus there is an exciting descent along an artificial dam.

Barong is in no way inferior to Kecak in terms of energy and drama; it is also more of a theatrical performance than a dance. The fight between the evil witch Rangda and the good mythical creature Barong is played out on stage.

Well, for pleasure and aesthetic pleasure, in my opinion, Legong is most suitable - the dance of femininity, youth, purity and grace.

This is truly a very unusual and beautiful dance of young, fragile and flexible girls and women in silk, gold-embroidered outfits with expressive makeup on their faces.

The plot in Legong, as well as in the Kecak dance and other traditional Balinese dances, is less important than the dance itself, which hypnotizes with the melodic tints of music, and fascinates with the clear and at the same time smooth movements of the dancers, where everything is involved - from the tips of the fingers to eye

In general, if you like to receive aesthetic pleasure, I recommend planning a Devdan show for the evening, especially since the theater is located in one of the most popular tourist areas of Bali - Nusa Dua.

Alas, photo and video filming at the show is prohibited, but this did not stop us from sharing our impressions with you and taking a couple of shots with the artists after the performance.

Taman Nusa - Park of Culture and Traditions of Indonesia

Taman Nusa is a new huge park of culture and traditions in Indonesia for curious tourists. In addition to museums, here you can not only look at the houses typical of each region from the outside, but also look inside, touch the utensils, sit on ancient chairs and the most interesting thing is to communicate with the original inhabitants of various islands of Indonesia or watch their work, whether - modeling, sewing, and other household chores.

The park also hosts performances, dancing, playing musical instruments, singing, you can take part in everything, the employees and artists of the park are happy to help you learn a new craft :)
In a few hours in Taman Nusa Park, I filmed a lot of material, and thanks to the cool guide Ketut, we simply could not help but fall in love with the culture of Indonesia, we urgently wanted to see all the islands with their buildings and nationalities live!

Also, during our visit, we met and talked a little with an interesting businessman - the creator of this unique corner of culture in Bali, Santoso Senangsyah, and his family.

In addition to a walk in the park, we were offered to dress up in traditional Javanese wedding dresses, we had never taken such photos before, but here we had a reason - and the outfits turned out to be suitable))

Bali Zoo and Bali Safari & Marine Park

You can see wild animals in Bali in two places - the Zoo and the Safari Park. If you choose one thing, then perhaps you should opt for the Safari Park - there, on an area of ​​more than 40 hectares, you can see Javan leopards, African giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses,

giant monitor lizards from Komodo Island and other animals.

The night safari deserves special attention - this is for those who want to tickle their nerves with a close (but safe) encounter with lions and tigers.

In addition, in the park you can ride elephants and feed them, and visit an aquarium with 40 species of various tropical fish. There is also a Balinese theater in the park with dance performances, so you won’t be bored :)

Bali Bird Park

This park is home to more than 2,000 tropical plants from many different regions of the country, and is home to almost 1,000 of the 250 species of birds. In addition to the birds themselves, both in cages and flying around the park, or swaggering along the paths, there are demonstration flights of specially trained birds, cockfighting shows and bird feeding.

The park will be of interest to both adults and children; first of all, everyone definitely wants to take a photo with the brightly colored tropical parrots; by the way, they talk :)

In the park there are small hummingbirds and huge pelicans, owls and handsome pink flamingos, as well as white peacocks

Waterbom water park

When we found out that Waterbom Water Park in Bali is considered one of the best water parks in Asia, we definitely wanted to visit it

In the company of friends, we spent almost 4 hours in the park, had a blast on all the slides, some more than once, and managed to get a little tan, because the park is completely open-air!

There are many attractions, some were amusing, and some we called “death capsule”. The park has swimming pools and sun loungers around them, areas with restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlors, massage pavilions and a gazebo for relaxation, as well as a huge area with mini slides in the pool for children
