When going on vacation to a new country, a tourist is always visited by a slight feeling of fear, especially if there is no knowledge of the language and no travel experience. “What should I do if I get lost? How to find a hotel? A map of the tourist’s holiday area can give a feeling of confidence in walking. In the article you will find detailed maps of Pattaya and its areas.

Theoretically, Pattaya is not a big resort. In the very first days you will adapt and be able to find your way to the hotel without a map. But nevertheless, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the general map of the resort:

As you can see on the map, most of the resort faces the sea. By district, the city can be divided into the center - beach and second streets; the northern part - the tourist area with hotels ends exactly as shown on the map; the southern part is divided into Buddha Hill, shown on the map, and continues far to the south for about another 15 km.

City center
Pattaya

There are more hotels in the central part. On the one hand, residents of the center are lucky - the infrastructure for tourists is the most developed here. You don’t have to take a taxi, everything is located within walking distance - shopping centers, markets, restaurants, cafes, Walking street - red light district, etc. On the other hand, the sea here is the most unsightly in the resort (see article Best hotels and beaches in Pattaya)

The beach street faces the sea and has one-way traffic from north to south. The second street runs parallel to the beach street - but one-way traffic flows in the opposite direction - from south to north. Between the two main streets there are small jays - streets in Thai.

Also in the center, at the end of Walking Street, there is a pier from which ferries depart to the nearest island of Koh Larn. Ticket price is 30 baht, ferry schedule can be found on the map.

South - Buddha Hill and Jomtien Beach

If you look at the general map of Pattaya, Buddha Hill is located closer to the center, and the Jomtien coast stretches further south - all this is southern Pattaya.

Among tourists there are a lot of fans of Buddha Hill for holidays in Pattaya. Quite clean sea, wide beach line, prestigious quiet place, not far from the center. It is still not possible to reach the center on foot; shuttle transport for tourists can be provided by the hotel. Otherwise, taxis are available to tourists.

Buddha Hill smoothly merges into the Jomtien coastline; theoretically, it can also be divided into 2 parts - in the city and outside the city. The part of the city that goes along the beach street of Jomtien is located. Outside the city, this is the one that does not have a road along the coast. Conventionally, on the map a little further than the Sigma Hotel.

Tourists from hotels in Jomtien located in the city can use tuk-tuks running along the first beach street of Jomtien to the center. The fare is 10 baht per person (price may change upon arrival). But tourists living outside the city, unfortunately, will not be able to use route tuk-tuks, only a taxi or a bus shuttle from the hotel. But in the south of Pattaya there is the cleanest sea and a quiet and serene holiday.

North Pattaya - Naklua

The northern part of the resorts is called Naklua. This is a fairly prestigious part of the city; many 5* hotels are located here. If you are staying in a hotel on the seashore and want to go shopping in the center, you will have to take a taxi from the hotel. If you want to save money, you can walk to Naklua Street, wait for a tuk-tuk route and take it to the center. The tourist area of the northern part ends at the Garden Sea View hotel; further north along the coast there are practically no hotels; a fishing village begins. The northern hotel “Cholchan” is the farthest from the center and is located on the outskirts of Pattaya.

When returning to your hotels in the evening, you can always use the business card you took from the hotel in advance. This will save you from unnecessary explanations with the driver and using the card. Although, undoubtedly, a few days after your arrival, you will no longer need the card!

For more than 30 years, local residents of the city have been building the Temple of Truth, and all because they build it without using nails. At least that's what the legend says. The Thais claim that construction will be completed in 2026, but skeptics and tourists who have already visited this religious place are convinced otherwise. The temple is already beginning to gradually collapse and requires restoration.

The Temple of Truth, as conceived by the architect and owner of the idea, is a kind of home of religions and cultures of all neighboring countries of Thailand, including China, Cambodia and India. The structure rises almost 110 meters above the ground and is decorated with carved wooden ornaments that are dedicated to various religious heroes and mythology.

Khao Kheo is one of the largest zoos in the world, as it has a huge area for keeping its pets - more than 800 hectares of free land.

In addition, the zoo did not stop at just showing exotic animals. On its territory, fascinating performances are held daily with the residents of Khao Kheo, and there is also a scientific unit that studies and monitors endangered species of the animal world.

Khao Kheo Zoo is open every day from 8 am to 6 pm, but even this time is not enough to see and touch all its inhabitants. Since the zoo is located 60 kilometers from Pattaya, the most convenient way to get to it is by rented car. Travel time will be approximately 50 minutes. If you don’t have your own transport, the most profitable option is to buy a sightseeing tour in Pattaya to the zoo - the price is between 800-1000 baht.

The entrance ticket price for all categories of citizens is the same and is 300 baht, but this price already includes an exciting jungle safari and a visit to a show with the participation of zoo pets.

Every day, not far from the Big Buddha statue, the observation deck on Pratumnak Hill is open to the public. Opening hours: 7 am to 10 pm. Entrance is absolutely free, but individual or group excursions can be arranged through travel agencies.

It is from this observation deck that you can take the most beautiful photographs against the background of the resort city, because from it you can see every corner of Pattaya. The panorama is especially stunning in the evening hours, when the dark city is decorated with lanterns and other lighting fixtures.

The observation deck is located here for a reason. Pattaya's highest elevation is located on Mount Pratumnak, where the city's television tower is also built. In addition, near the site there is another holy place for local residents - a monument to Admiral Krom, who founded the national navy.

Another Buddhist temple in Pattaya, Wat Khao Phra Bat, was built on the territory of the observation deck. Here you can take photos near the Buddha statue or undergo a blessing ceremony with a local monk.

Wat Yan Temple

The full name of the temple complex is Wat Yansangwararam, but to make it easier to pronounce, it is simply shortened to Wat Yan. The area around the temple is incredibly beautiful, a lot of greenery, well-groomed paths, fountains, flower beds and a pond.

The main shrine of this attraction is the imprint or cast of Buddha's foot. To get to the imprint you need to climb the hill, to which 300 steps lead from the temple. Once you reach the top, you will see not only the religious value, but also the amazing view.

Wat Yan welcomes visitors all year round and every day. The temple opening hours are from 8:00 to 16:00, visiting the temple is free. You will only have to pay for the ascent to the Buddha's footprint - 50 baht.

An interesting fact is the size of the Buddha image. It is considered the largest in the world. The height of the golden display is more than 100 meters, and the width is almost 70 m. The date of creation of the image falls on 1996, when it was the fiftieth anniversary of the reign of King Rama 4 in Thailand.

The temple and rock can only be reached by taxi or using your own car, since they are located 20 kilometers from Pattaya, where public transport does not go. The cost of the trip varies among ordinary taxi drivers and tuk-tuk drivers from 300 to 500 baht.
